Position Summary
The Food and Health Engineering Laboratory (FHEL) seeks a highly motivated ph.D. student to conduct and lead research on "Evaluation of the grape transcriptome due to early leaf removal" The project includes multidisciplinary areas such as Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Nanotechnology, Engineering, and Metabolomics. Also, she/he will oversee and coordinate laboratory operations, assist in planning and design experiments, conduct experiments, and analyze project data. The candidate must investigate changes in the grape transcriptome and its association with abiotic stress and agricultural practices.

Education/Experience/Skills
  • The student must have a background in biochemistry, food science, biology, food engineering, and/or biological engineering. However, students with experience in this topic from other backgrounds will be seriously considered.
  • Self-motivated

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in mRNA Sequencing, DNA extraction, Western blot, and Electrophoresis.
  • HPLC, GC-MS, and UV-VIS Spectrophotometry (but not requered)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and statistical software.
